On 12" tile with a 1/4" joint the difference is about 4%. On mosaics it is closer to 20%.

Worth knowing
The part other calculators skip
Start tight against one wall and whatever is left over lands as a cut at the far wall. If that piece comes out at an inch it looks wrong, and it breaks while you are cutting it. You find out before you start: how wide that last piece lands, and what centring the layout would give you instead.
It knows what nobody sees
On a wall it knows the top course dies under the cabinets, so it will not warn you about a cut nobody is ever going to look at.
Wall tile, floor tile, plank
Switch to plank or LVT and the grout joint, thinset and grout disappear, because a floating floor uses none of them. The cut list stays.
